Take Me There by Carolee Dean

The book I am currently reading is Take Me There by Carolee Dean. This book is about a boy name Dylan who has a trouble past. He falls in love with a girl named Jesse. At the beginning he has started to clean him self up but then he makes a giant mistake. Dylan really loves Jess and he is really trying to clean himself up.
Right before he goes to meet Jess he, “ I went to the bathroom. Peeled off my grease-stained work shirt washed my armpits in the sink. Combed to my hair.” This quote shows that he is trying to clean him self up for Jess. He wants to look nice and cleaned up for her. He really wants to act like a new person and forget his past in jail.
I highly recommend this book for people 12 and up because of some of the content. I really like how exciting and dramatic it is. I met the author in New Mexico and she was really nice. I highly recommend this book.

  1. Good job Caitlin,
I like how you put text evidence (a quote) in your writing. But for the future be careful not to make mistakes on quotes like you wrote "come to my hair" instead of "combed my hair"
    I enjoyed this very much.

  3. but besides quote mistake, you did a fantastic job on post. Even though this post is shorter than the other ones, you still have me wanting to read the book. so good job.

P.S, did you get your book signed by the author?
