The book that I have recently
finished is Take Me There by Carolee Dean. On my last blog post I left
off at the part right before Jess and Dylan meet for a second time. After that
part a ton happens. Dylan escapes the law by running away to Texas. Jess comes
down to Texas to find Dylan. While Jess is there Dylan’s father admits to a
murder he didn’t commit but has been in jail for it for 11 years and has now
been sentenced to death by lethal injection. At the end of story Dylan is
convicted of a murder that he did commit but only for protection. This book
doesn’t end like most books with a happy ending.
Most stories end with happy endings
or at the very least fairly. But Take Me There ends with Dylan being
sent to jail because he killed Spider a gang leader who was about to shoot Jess
through the head. Most stories would end with the jury seeing that this murder
was only an act of protection but in this story Dylan is seen as a heartless
killer. This isn’t how most stories end because it doesn’t end with a happy
ending.
From this book we can learn that
life isn’t always going to be a happy and end in a fairytale. This book helps
us face reality and the fact that sometime life just isn’t fair. I highly recommend
this book for 12 and older because of the killing and overall content of the story.
This is a very amazing story.

I love how you include your opinion on happy endings, and a moral at the end of the post. What you said about life not being fair made me really think, which I think is a good accomplishment in a blog post.
